DNA Catching
DNA Catching is a catcher-specific development program built to help young players improve their fundamentals, confidence, and game awareness behind the plate.We work with catchers through team practices, small group sessions, and private lessons, focusing on skills like receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, positioning, and leadership. Our goal is to give catchers the detailed instruction they need to grow and take control of the game from behind the plate.
Meet the Team
DNA Catching was founded by Dylan Nerlich and Aidan Asher, two experienced catchers who grew up playing high-level baseball and understand the demands of the position firsthand.
Dylan currently plays varsity baseball at the University of British Columbia and previously played with the Ontario Terriers in the CPBL. Dylan was also a two time CPBL all-star.
Aidan played in the Mississauga Tigers High Performance Program, where his teams won two Ontario Championships and competed at events such as the Future Stars Series Main Event.
Together, Dylan and Aidan bring both playing and coaching experience to DNA Catching, with a focus on helping young catchers build strong fundamentals, confidence, and leadership behind the plate.
